Software Research for Visualisation and Analysis of Large-Scale Scientific Datasets
Date added: 02 May 2018
Organisation: German Aerospace Center (DLR)
Location: Cologne / Brunswick, Germany
At the German Aerospace Center, large-scale scientific datasets are generated on a daily basis. These require adjusted processing methods to extract valuable information. Interactive exploration allows the investigation of unknown data and the identification of new findings. By means of distributed software systems, large-scale datasets can be processed on supercomputers and can be streamed to visualisation frontends for interactive explorations. Datasets in mind are from numerical simulations as computational fluid dynamics, aeroacoustics, atmospheric physics and material science. But also sensor data from earth observation satellites and space missions should be prepared for real-time analysis.
Your mission will be the investigation and development of methods as a team member of the interactive visualisation group.
Following tasks will be addressed:
If you love to perform software development and want to become a member of the team, DLR would be happy to receive your application. DLR are looking for highly motivated people with the ambition to create top quality software. DLR are offering an environment where people can bring in own ideas. DLR expect that new projects are inspired and advanced methods are investigated. Part of your job will also be the presentation of your research on international conferences and in scientific journals. DLR are offering an exciting, friendly, and flexible working environment which also provides part time.
