Projects relating to water and its impact on the health and well-being of communities, infrastructure and the environment is some of the exciting EO work we are currently involved in. Additionally development of other potential downstream EO application is one of the business opportunities we would want you to progress. With water as the common enabling factor, they range from forecasting mosquito-borne diseases and water resources to land movement detection and geo-positioning.

Transitioning of EO projects from the development phase through to successful global implementation and broader commercialisation is something you will lead on. Working closely with our wider business development team you will help us to identify and realise new EO application business opportunities. Building relationships with prospective clients and preparing and submitting proposals to secure new business will be an important part of the role.

This role is based at our head office at Howbery Park near Wallingford, in Oxfordshire, United Kingdom. You can expect frequent short trips (i.e. less than two weeks in duration) to a wide variety of destinations worldwide.


  • You will be able to demonstrate experience of taking developing technology through to market, delivering a sustainable business stream through either the creation of commercial products and services or by identifying and acquiring support from international funding agencies.
  • You will understand the various international funding routes and how they can be leveraged for the benefit of societies.
  • You will be a great communicator. You will be able to work with local user communities, where English is often a second language, and understand and define their needs. You will be quick to grasp technical details and be able to explain and promote solutions at an appropriate level for a range of audiences.
  • You will have advanced proposal-writing skills with a strong track record of successful submissions.
  • You may have experience of the EO, water, health or civil and environmental engineering sectors, which would be an advantage, but applications from those with the appropriate skills from any sector are encouraged.
